Lesley-Anne Gunn, solicitor, equity partner, wife and mother to two young boys.

 Where are you based?

I lead the Dee & Griffin Solicitors Cheltenham office at the Cheltenham Film Studios.

 Why should anyone use you?

I consider myself to be approachable, knowledgeable and professional. Through years of experience and also living in the area, I have built up valuable local knowledge, which is especially important in Cheltenham when, for example, dealing with the Grade II listed buildings and lease extensions.

I work closely with other solicitors, developers, search providers and management companys, so have built up a good relationship with them and know and understand how they work. The rapport certainly helps to streamline the process and people respond to you better when you work well together. I also work closely with estate agents, it can be vital to a complicated chain to work together, after all we are working towards the same goal, keeping our client’s best interests at the forefront.

Our Cheltenham team has a wealth of knowledge. Julie has been working in property law for 40 years, Vicky has been working in family law for 20 years and Jess is currently training to become a solicitor. We also have a wider admin support team, which have varied levels of experience also.

Approachability is key for me. Whilst we encourage appointments, we have an ‘’open-door’’ policy where people can call in, plus, I like to meet people! I think it helps humanise the whole experience which is important when you are guiding someone through a legal issue which may be very stressful and emotional. I think it makes a big difference to clients, it helps build a great working relationship and trust to know that I am working in their best interests.

Working in the Cheltenham Film Studio’s is fantastic. People are always amazed by our accessibility. There are a lot of other services and businesses within the Studio’s, a lot of which now use our services, there is a genuine good feel and sense of community. It also helps to be out of town, where parking can be an issue for clients and staff. It works well for us and of course the kids love to meet Spider Pig, our office mascot!
